You're Gonna Need a Bigger Boat is brought to you by Simon Williams and Lee-Jay Bannister.

On Quiz Night, Simon is the one with the mic, since strangers find regional Northern accents warm and appealing (this research has since been discredited). He enjoys zombie movies, apocalypse movies and zombie apocalypse movies. Actors he has a lot of time for include Vincent Price, Charlton Heston, Bruce Campbell and Gene Kelly.

On Quiz Night, Lee-Jay sits, Wizard-of-Oz-like, behind a curtain pressing the buttons and making the magic happen. He likes what might politely be termed girly films (i.e. movies with some degree of emotional depth, realistic characters and an actual plot) and has an unhealthy fascination with 'proper' actors like Ian McKellen, Kenneth Branagh and Philip Seymour Hoffman.

Origins of the Quiz

The You're Gonna Need a Bigger Boat Film Quiz is the brainchild of Paul Hupfield and Stewart Williams who in 2003 established the finest pub film quiz in London, and therefore the world.

After two years they decided to call it quits, so rather than let a good thing end, we gave up being contestants and became hosts. And while the quiz has been given a makeover and turned up to eleven, we've kept the original name as it's still the same old quiz at heart - that is, the best pub film quiz you'll ever find.
